Vision
Envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Palm Jebel Ali is the second of three man-made islands in the shape of a palm tree, and consists of two discrete and unconnected islands. The first consists of a ‘trunk’ leading up from the shore, a ‘spine’, and sixteen ‘fronds’ and the second is a crescent surrounding the palm shape formed of five segments in a semicircle linked by bridges.
Development
Palm Jebel Ali is a landmark commercial, residential and tourism development for Dubai, which, along with the Waterfront project, will transform an area of empty desert and sea into a bustling international community, with an estimated population of 1.7 million people by 2020. Located outside of the existing city near the Dubai / Abu Dhabi border, Palm Jebel Ali will eventually support a population of more than 250,000 people and serve as an entertainment destination for both adults and children.
Accommodation
Catering to both residents and tourists, the developments on Palm Jebel Ali range from luxury villa residences along the fronds – including the popular Signature and Garden Villas first seen on Palm Jumeirah, as well as a brand new villa design specially created for Palm Jebel Ali, with apartments and townhouses on the spine, trunk and crescents – to landmark hotels, tourism destinations, and marinas. A unique feature of Palm Jebel Ali is more than 500 waterhomes, raised on platforms above the waters of the Gulf, with their own optional private leisure boat berths and private community beaches.

At the heart of its offering are over 70 kilometres of pristine beaches, with six marinas, luxury hotels, a mixture of housing types, and a full range of services for its communities. Through a unique partnership with Busch Entertainment Corporation, the island will feature an incredible entertainment attraction known as The Worlds of Discovery, which includes SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove.
